Honors Graduation
To graduate with honors from the Honors Program, a student must be eligible to graduate from the college and must meet additional requirements as detailed:
- at least, 3.5 MCCCD cumulative GPA
- completion of fifteen (15) credit hours in Honors coursework across three (3) disciplines, and
- completion of all scholarship requirements
Please send your completed Honors Program Graduation Application (found on Canvas) to honorsprogram@estrellamountain.edu. Graduates who have the following grade point average and complete the additional requirements will graduate with the following distinctions:
Honors Scholar Cum Laude [with distinction]
- GPA 3.5-3.69
Honors Scholar Magna Cum Laude [with high distinction]
- GPA 3.70-3.89
- Complete HON190 with a āCā or higher
- Complete 5-10 hours of Service Learning
- Present at the Honors Expo
- Complete two (2) additional co-curricular events and complete required reflections
Honors Scholar Summa Cum Laude [with highest distinction]
- GPA 3.90-4.0
- Complete HON190 with a āCā or higher
- Complete 15+ hours of Service Learning
- Present at the Honors Expo
- Complete four (4) additional co-curricular events and complete required reflections
NOTE: Graduation regalia handed out at the Spring Honors Regalia Ceremony is based on the accumulative MCCCD GPA from Fall. Should a student's GPA change significantly after grades are in after graduation, Honors will contact the student to pick up any additional regalia they have earned.
