MCCCD Transit Subsidy Program

Drive less, save more!

MCCCD Trip Reduction (TR) Program will pay 50% of the monthly cost of a full-fare Transit Pass for employees. Students and employees must fill out the Transit Subsidy Form, and submit to their campus TR Site Coordinator and/or designee. Transit passes may be purchased from your campus bookstores. 

This program is for the sole use of MCCCD employees and full-time driving age students (fulltime; 12 credit hours equivalent to qualify) and may not be given to or purchased for any other person. The primary use of the transit pass is for commuting to an MCCCD location. Any violation or misuse of the transit subsidy program will result in the loss of privileges.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a registered full time (12 credit hours or more) at a Maricopa community college.
  • Must commute to campus at least one day per week via bus or light rail.
  • Must document legal status in accordance with HB2008 through Admission & Records

Caution: Treat your transit pass the same as cash. Lost or stolen passes cannot be replaced utilizing the Subsidy Program!

This program is for sole use of Maricopa community college employees and/or students and may not be given to or purchased for any other person. Any violation or misuse of the transit subsidy program will result in loss of privileges.

The Local Pass (Monthly) is valid for 31 days beyond the date of activation and the semester pas is valid for four months beyond the date of activation. Subsidy is limited to one local pass per 31-day period per person and one Semester pass per semester per person.

We Ride

WeRIDE offers trips to and from fixed points within a 10-minute walk to all central Goodyear, Avondale, and Surprise neighborhoods, and stops at shopping centers, medical facilities, recreation, businesses, and community spaces-- including Estrella Mountain Community College. Estrella Mountain Community College students only pay $1 per trip paid via the app or cash (change is not provided). Learn more and download the app here.
