Persistence & Completion Academy

Colleges in the Open Pathway can select their own quality improvement project or participate in an HLC Academy. The College must apply to the academy and participate over a four-year period. EMCC's Quality Initiative consists of participation in the Persistence and Completion Academy.

Estrella Mountain's participation in the HLC Persistence and Completion Academy began in the summer of 2016. The College's persistence and completion strategies are designed to improve the rate students progress through developmental education courses, increase student success rates in college-level gateway courses, increase the number of students persisting semester-to-semester, and improve overall student graduation rates.
