College releases calendar teeming with virtual events during month of February
AVONDALE, ARIZONA, Feb. 04 – Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is excited to celebrate Black History Month. This year’s theme, “Black Family: Representation, Identity and Diversity,” explores the African diaspora and the spread of Black families across the U.S.
The college’s Black History Month Committee has planned nearly 20 different virtual events throughout February to celebrate the achievements of Blacks and recognize their central role in U.S. history. Estrella Mountain Community College is one of the ten colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District, one of the largest community college districts in the nation. EMCC offers academic courses leading to associate degrees, university transfer, certificates, and short-term job training to more than 14,000 students annually.
