Mick Adams and the Stones

Stones tribute band comes to EMCC’s Performing Arts Center Jan. 15

Wild horses won’t be able to keep Rolling Stones fans away from Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) next week. Mick Adams and the Stones, the first of six tribute band concerts scheduled for January and February at the Performing Arts Center (PAC), takes the stage at 7 p.m. Jan. 15. Tickets start at just $20 and a portion of the proceeds benefits EMCC’s Fine & Performing Arts Scholarship Fund.

The concerts are made possible through a brand new partnership between EMCC and TAD Management.

“We approached TAD management about a partnership and suggested a similar model that we have with Southwest Ballet Theatre and they liked the idea,” said Tim Butterfield, EMCC Coordinator of Fine Arts Facilities. “We decided to present a series of shows at the beginning of the semester when the PAC isn’t as tightly scheduled and see how it goes.”

Attendees to the Jan. 15 show are sure to get plenty of satisfaction as Mick Adams and the Stones has been named one of the top 10 tribute bands in the world by “Backstage Magazine” and has secured the endorsement of former Atlantic Records President Jerry Greenberg, Ryan Seacrest, and Mark Cuban. The band has been featured twice on AXS TV’s “The Worlds Greatest Tribute Bands” and was the only band chosen by Cuban out of seven seasons to perform a private concert for Comcast and AXS Television.

The concert is sure to be a gas, gas, gas as the band features look-alike performers, multiple costume changes, and full choreography.

“We are excited to have some rock musicians in the PAC as our sound system rarely gets used to its full potential,” Butterfield said. “And Scott Morganroth, the Theater Technical Coordinator for the PAC, is a stellar audio engineer whose talents are sometimes neglected with all the non-musical offerings in the PAC.”

Upcoming concerts include One Of These Nights Jan. 29; SixtiesMania Feb. 6; Abbafab Feb. 11; Garth Live! Feb. 18; and Adventures in Parrotdise Feb. 26. Click here to learn more.
