Artificial Intelligence Program
On the Leading Edge at EMCC
EMCC has partnered with Intel, the Arizona Commerce Authority, and Chandler-Gilbert Community College to create the first associate degree (AAS) and certificate of completion (CCL) in the nation in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
This program enables students to develop traditional skills such as data collection, AI model training, coding, and exploring the societal impact of AI technology.

Where can you use an artificial intelligence degree or certificate in today's job market? Common job titles that use AI include: business analyst, java developer, data engineer, marketing manager, health manager, engineer, product manager, developer, front end developer, and architect, although there are many more.
And Arizona's top employers – including Intel, IBM, Wells Fargo, Deloitte, American Express, and more – are looking for employees trained in artificial intelligence and machine learning!
Associate in Applied Science in Artificial Intelligence
The AAS in AI focuses on building machine learning models that can be used for predicting, making decisions, and enhancing human capabilities. This program satisfies all general education requirements for transfer to a four-year college.
The program includes an introduction to artificial intelligence and machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence for business solutions and other applications. You will also have the chance to take coursework in computer programming, math, engineering, and statistics.
Certificate of Completion in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
The CCL in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning requires between 21 and 36 credit hours, which means you could be workforce ready in three semesters or less.
The certificate program focuses on building machine learning models that can be used for predicting, making decisions, and enhancing human capabilities. Program content includes an introduction to artificial intelligence and machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence for business solutions and other applications. You will also take coursework in computer programming, math, and statistics.
